علاج جفاف العين | Dry Eye Treatment
جفاف العين ليس مجرد نقص في الدموع؛ قد يتعلق بكمية الدموع أو تبخرها أو التهاب سطح العين أو الغدد الدهنية في الجفن، لذلك يعتمد العلاج على السبب والنمط.
Dry eye is not simply a lack of tears. It may involve tear volume, evaporation, ocular-surface inflammation or eyelid oil-gland dysfunction, so treatment should be directed at the underlying pattern.

قد تشمل الأعراض الحرقة والوخز والشعور بالرمل وتقلب الرؤية، وقد تتفاقم الأعراض مع الهواء أو الاستخدام المطول للشاشات. شدة الأعراض لا تتطابق دائماً مع شدة العلامات في الفحص.
Symptoms can include burning, stinging, gritty sensation and fluctuating vision. Symptoms may worsen with airflow or prolonged screen use. Symptom severity does not always match examination findings.

Causes and triggers
قد تتداخل البيئة، استخدام الشاشات، العدسات اللاصقة، بعض الأدوية، التهاب حواف الجفن أو خلل الغدد الميبومية مع جفاف العين. التاريخ يساعد على تحديد ما يستحق التعديل.
Environment, screen use, contact lenses, some medications, blepharitis and meibomian-gland dysfunction can contribute to dry eye. History helps identify modifiable factors.

Examination
يفحص الطبيب سطح العين والجفون وطبقة الدموع، وقد يستخدم اختبارات إضافية بحسب الحاجة والتوافر. الهدف هو فهم النمط وليس فقط وصف قطرة مرطبة بشكل آلي.
The clinician examines the ocular surface, eyelids and tear film and may use additional tests when indicated and available. The aim is to understand the dry-eye pattern rather than automatically prescribe one lubricant.

Treatment options
قد تشمل الخطة تعديل العوامل المحفزة، الدموع الصناعية، العناية بالجفون أو علاجات مضادة للالتهاب أو خطوات أخرى بحسب التشخيص. العلاج تدريجي ويُعدل حسب الاستجابة.
Management can include trigger modification, lubricants, eyelid care, anti-inflammatory therapy or other measures depending on diagnosis. Treatment is stepped and adjusted according to response.

ألم شديد، حساسية ضوئية واضحة، نقص أو فقدان مفاجئ في الرؤية، إصابة أو احمرار شديد قد يشير إلى مشكلة أخرى غير الجفاف البسيط ويحتاج تقييماً مناسباً.
Severe pain, marked light sensitivity, sudden reduction or loss of vision, injury or intense redness may indicate something other than uncomplicated dry eye and warrants appropriate assessment.
